ERIN, Wis. - Incoming Long Beach State freshman Lee Lopez (Whittier) fell to the 2008 NCAA Championship Runner-Up Tiffany Joh of UCLA in a 2-and-1 defeat in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links on Friday at the Erin Hills Golf Course. This was Lopez's second time competing in the WAPL. Joh went onto to defeat Jennifer Song of Korea, 2-and-1, to claim the WAPL Championship on Saturday afternoon. "This was a great match for Lee as it shows that she's ready to go from the junior ranks to the amateur level of competition," said LBSU women's head golf coach Sue Ewart. "For Lee to go up against one of the nation's best golfers, shows that she's going to be a great addition to our program here at Long Beach State and we're very much looking forward for her to contribute her talented skills to the team."
