BOX SCORE

LONG BEACH—No. 14-ranked USC (7-1-1) tallied three goals, including two in the second half to snap Long Beach State's (6-4-0) four-match winning streak, 3-0. All four losses for the 49ers have been to top-25 teams. The crowd was a record 1204 for a women's soccer match at LBSU.

Neither team could manage a shot until the 23rd minute, when Marihelen Tomer took a long pass from Karter Haug and scored at 22:43 to give USC a 1-0 lead. The Women of Troy then caught a break in the 52nd minute. With an injured LBSU player, the 49ers kicked the ball out and waited for the return ball, but Amy Rodriguez took away, and passed it to Lauren Brown who headed it in to make it 2-0.

In the 64th minute, Hayley Bolt tried to cut the lead in half, passing it ahead to Kristen Kiefer, whose shot was saved.

USC then added another goal at 73:06, as goalkeeper Kristin Olsen booted a ball past the midline that was picked up by Megan Ohai and kicked in from 25 yards out to make it 3-0.

The Women of Troy outshot LBSU 14-to-5 for the contest.

The 49ers host Wyoming to close out their non-conference schedule on Sunday at 11 a.m.
