PEBBLE BEACH -- After two rounds of play at the Saint Mary's Invitational at the Poppy Hills Golf Course, Long Beach State is currently tied for sixth place with a score of 590. The 49ers shot an impressive 290 in Monday's second round. Baylor is on top of the leader board with a score 581, followed by Alabama-Birmingham with a 585.

On the individual side, senior Michael Drake is tied for fourth place after shooting a one-under 143 (71-72). Karl Katnik is tied for 17th with a three-over 147 (76-71) and freshman Rick Montanez is tied for 33rd with a 149 (75-74). The overall individual leaders are Brad Smith of UAB (72-69) and Wesley Williams of Baylor (71-70) who are tied with a three-under 141.

The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
