Blalock Scores Third-Fastest 1500-Meter Time LOS ANGELES, CA-- Nicole Blalock highlighted the 49ers at the USC Invitational, running the third-fastest 1500-meter time in Long Beach State history. Blalock's time was two seconds short of an NCAA Regional qualifying time, as Brent Gray fell just short of another regional time in the 100-meter (21.24), to finish third, and Mario Cobian was just short of his first regional time in the 800-meter (1:52.82). Ezra Kwong had another regional mark in the shot put (56'6.25") to finish fourth. Jennifer Onyagbako set a seven-foot personal-best in the shot put to finish sixth (44'3.75"), while she was also second inthe discus (161'4.25"). Kami Klopfenstein was fourth in the discus with a personal-best (147'7.75"), while Allison Sarrell was third in the long jump with a career-best 17'4.75". Jennifer Rodriguez had a personal-best in the 1500-meter race (4:45.19) to finish seventh. Taylor O'Connor won the "B" High Jump, while Robert Jennings was also fifth in the discus. |
