Carter Named an All-American for the Second-Straight
Time FAYETTEVILLE, AR-- Long Beach State's Ronald Carter made sure he was an All-American on his first jump. Carter jumped 52'4.00" on his first triple try of the NCAA Indoor Championship and ended up fourth overall at his second-straight NCAA Championship. The former walk-on was named an All-American for the second-straight time, after finishing seventh at the outdoor championships last spring. He finishes his career with the school-record in the triple jump, fourth in the indoor long jump and fifth in the outdoor triple jump. The mark during the outdoor season, 52'9.25", was the longest mark of a 49er male since 1978. Carter and distance runner Jimmy Grabow, who earned the honor on Friday night, both finished their eligibility as All-Americans at the NCAA Indoor Championships. |
