49ers Fall at UC Davis Despite Double Double from O'Brien
DAVIS, CA-- Despite a double-double from Kaiti O'Brien, Long Beach State women's basketball (6-22) dropped a 60-50 decision to future Big West foe, UC Davis (12-14), in a non-conference game Saturday night. O'Brien had a career-best 16 rebounds, and added 14 points, hitting 6-of-9 from the field. LBSU though, which managed just 11 total free throws, could not contend with the Aggies 19-of-26 clip from the charity stripe. Karina Figueroa led the 49ers with 16 points, as the 49ers shot 39 percent for the game. UC Davis shot just 33 percent. The 49ers did not give up after an Aggies 9-0 run gave them a 36-26 lead early in the second half. The 49ers fought back to close to with 36-32, using their own 8-0 run, on a Figueroa three-pointer at 10:12. Three minutes later, UC Davis capped off a 11-2 run to lead 47-37 with 7:11 left. The 49ers close out the regular season at UC Irvine on Saturday at 4 p.m. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
