Richardson in First Halfway Through Heptathlon SEATTLE, WA--Chris Richardson is in first place after four events at the indoor Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship heptathlon with 3201 points, setting personal-bests in three events and winning two of them. Richardson posted the second-longest long jump in school-history, at 23'11.5", and also won the shot put, with a mark of 48'3.5". He also set a personal-best in the 60-meter dash, finishing fifth, and was fourth in the high jump. Brent Gray is headed to the 200-meter finals after winning the event and missing his own school-record by .01 second, running 21.15 for an NCAA provisional time. Jennifer Onyeagbako (weight) and Jill Reynolds (pole vault) each posted the second-best marks in school history in their respective events. Onyeagbako finished sixth in the indoor weight throw with the second-longest toss in school-history at 54'7.5", while Reynolds finished seventh in the pole vault, moving up to No. 2 all-time with a leap of 12'11.5". Patrice White and Jessica Branker each qualified for the 60-meter finals on Saturday. Branker also qualified for the 200-meter finals. Robert Jennings just missed all-conference honors in the weight throw, finishing fourth with a toss of 61'2.25". The men's distance medley relay team finished fifth with a time of 9:51.55, five seconds short of an NCAA provisional time in their first race of the season. The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship continues on Saturday. |
