49ers In Second Place At Big West Meet
Kay Hoey Tied For Second

MISSION VIEJO, CA-- The No. 32-ranked Long Beach State women's golf team is in second place after two rounds of the 2006 Big West Conference Golf Championships at the Tijeras Creek Golf Course in Mission Viejo. The 49ers shot a 305 in Monday's opening round and followed that with a 316 for a two-round score of 621. UC Irvine is in first place after shooting a 591 (294-297).

Individually, sophomore Kay Hoey is tied for second place after shooting a four-over 148 (72-76). Katy Barrett (80-78) and Josefine Lindbergh (75-83) are tied for 15th place with a 158. Overall, UC Irvine's Selanee Henderson is in first place after shooting an evenpar 144 (69-75).

The tournament continues with 18 holes on Monday afternoon and concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
