Temidara Named Athlete of the Week IRVINE, CA-- Long Beach State senior John Temidara (Santa Fe Springs) was named the Big West Conference's Field Athlete of the Week following first place finishes in the triple and high jumps at last Saturday's Long Beach Classic. Temidara currently leads the Big West with a 51'7.25" mark in the triple jump and is second in the high jump, at 6'10.75". Both marks rank amongst the nation's top-five during the outdoor season. Both are also regional qualifiers. Temidara has reached three-straight NCAA Championships since hitting campus in Spring, 2005, including a 10th place finish at last month's indoor NCAA Championship High Jump. This is Temidara's second career athlete of the week honor. The 49ers are next in action when they travel to USC for a two-day invitational beginning on Friday. |
