Temidara Comes Up Big at MPSFs

Temidara Shines in Emerald City SEATTLE, WA-- Long Beach State track and field produced five NCAA provisional marks at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, two by John Temidara, who scored 18 points, the most of any MPSF athlete at the event. Temidara's day included a win in the high jump, at 7'2.25", and a second place showing in his first triple jump of the season with a mark of 51'3.5". Chris Richardson also had an NCAA provisional mark in the heptathlon, scoring 5354 points. The 49ers also produced seven school-records at the two-day event, including both 3000-meters today and the 4x400-meter relay. The relay team featured Charlene Deardorff, competing in her final track event, as the senior has been a part of three school-record setting relay teams. LBSU now has six NCAA provisional indoor marks for possible inclusion at the NCAA Championships in two weeks, three today, two yesterday with weight thrower Robert Jennings and 5000-meter runner Jimmy Grabow, and Ronald Carter in the triple jump, earlier this season. |
