BOX SCORE

LONG BEACH, CA-- Freshman Kim Silos (Ontario) unloaded with two second half goals en route to hat trick, as Long Beach State (4-1-0) won the 49er Classic with a 4-2 win over visiting Hawaii (2-3-1). Weber State finished in second place with Hawaii finishing in third, based on goal differential, as LBSU opened the tournament with a 1-0 win over Weber State and WSU and Hawaii tied 0-0.

The 49ers have now tied a school-record with four-straight home wins, as the Offensive MVP of the Classic, Silos, had three goals an assist, including the go-ahead goal in the 74th minute and the clincher, in the 83rd minute, off a fast break goal at 82:47, to make it 4-2. Silos gave The Beach a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, after taking a cross from Kelli Goes,.

Rachel Whiteaker's (Golden, CO) first career career goal, off a Silos' corner kick, gave The Beach an early 2-0 lead at 53:05, as the 49ers went to its bench, and it backfired, watching Hawaii come back and tie it at 2-2 with just over 28 minutes remaining.

An own goal in the 70th minute, followed by a perfectly placed free kick from Adria Campbell at 71:54 tied the game at 2-2, as LBSU responded quickly with a Silos goal just two minutes later to quiet a Rainbow attack with produced just seven shots.

Liz Ramos (Bakersfield), who returned to goal following that hectic seven minutes, was named the Defensive MVP of the Classic, as the freshman goalie has allowed just one goal all season, and none since the 61st minute of the season opener.

The 49ers attacked the Rainbow Wahine defense all game, as 15 of the team's 19 shots were on goal, with Hawaii goalie Kori Lu making nine saves.

The 49ers hit the road for three games this weekend, beginning at the Adidas UNLV Classic on Friday and Sunday.
