49ers Tie For Third Place At Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO-- The 49ers men's golf team got off to a great start in the fall season as they tied for third place at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, CO. The Beach shot a 288 in Sunday's final round, the second-best round of any team, to finish at 875, seven shots behind the winning Air Force Academy squad (868). Weber State finished in second place with an 872, after shooting a 284 on Sunday.

Leading the way for Long Beach State was junior Jeremy Keller (Las Vegas, NV), who tied for third place overall with a three-under-par 213 (71-73-69). Keller shot a three-under 69 in Sunday's third round. Brett Lederer (71-73-76) and James Logeman (75-76-69) both tied for 12th place with a four-over-par 220. The individual winner was Boise State's Graham Delaet, who shot a 10-under 206 (67-70-69). Nic Van Vuuren of Utah Valley State finished second with a 212 (71-70-71).

"We played very well today," said Head Coach Bob Livingstone. "I'm looking forward to next week at Oregon State. We came back well after a tough second round on Saturday. It was big that we finished ahead of Cal, as they are one of our top competitors in the region."

The 49ers will next be in action on September 19-20 when they compete at the Northwest Collegiate Classic in Corvallis, OR.
