McDonnell Promoted to Full-Time Assistant

McDonnell Promoted to Second Assistant LONG BEACH, CA-- Long Beach State baseball announced that Tim McDonnell will assume the role of full-time assistant coach and serve as the team's second assistant, following two years as the Dirtbags volunteer assistant and first base caoch. McDonnell will help in all areas of recruiting, player instruction and retention. McDonnell previously served as the top assistant at Orange Coast College in 2001 and 2002 and as a volunteer for CS Fullerton baseball in 2000. McDonnell graduated from UC Irvine in 1994, following an all-conference playing career in which he made stops at Chaffey College, UC Irvine and CS Fullerton. He was on the Anteaters final team prior to the school dropping its program in 1992, and finished out his career with the Titans in 1993. McDonnell was a six-year minor leaguer who finished with a .307 career average, and who also self-published "'The Process," a book which helps aspiring players become college or professional prospects.
