Hoey Selected 2nd Team All-American
Freshman Is First 49er To Receive Honor

CHICAGO, IL-- Long Beach State freshman Kay Hoey (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) was selected a second team All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Hoey was selected as the Big West Women's Golfer of the Year in 2005 as well as earning the league's Freshman of the Year honor. She recently finished in fifth place at the Big West Conference Championships, fifth at the NCAA West Regionals and tied for 27th at the NCAA Championships. Hoey won back-to-back tournament's this spring, capturing the Oregon Duck Invitational title with a 218 and then winning the Fresno State Invitational with a score of 216. She accumulated eight Top Ten finishes this year in the 10 tournament's which the 49ers participated.
