LONG BEACH, CA-- Long Beach State women's soccer (10-3-1, 3-1-0 Big West) remained perfect at home, thanks to another big second half, scoring a convincing 3-1 win over visiting UC Santa Barbara (7-7-0, 1-1-0 Big West).

Freshman Hayley Bolt (Lakewood) scored two goals, as LBSU re-wrote the record books on Sunday with the most wins at George Allen Field (7-0-0) and the most wins since the program re-started in 1998.

The win, with three matches remaining in conference play, kept the 49ers in contention for a Big West title following its sweep of the Central Coast this weekend.

Like the 49ers did on Friday, when they shutdown and beat No. 20-ranked Cal Poly over the final 45 minutes, LBSU outshot the Gauchos 11-to-3 in the second half, erasing a 1-1 tie in the 56th minute.

Erin Empting (Fountain Valley) passed it from midfield to a cutting Dana Farquhar (Redlands) on the near side, who found Bolt, who then headed it in to make it 2-1. Kim Silos (Ontario) then but the icing on the cake in the 86th minute. After a scramble in front of the 49er box on the opposite end of the field, the ball was cleared to midfield and Silos fired away from 30 yards out to make it 3-1.

The 49ers ended up outshooting UCSB 16-to-10, after the Gauchos forced goalie Liz Ramos (Bakersfield) to make four first half saves.

UCSB outshot the 49ers 7-to-5 in the first half and had the momentum for much of the half as Nicola Remmenga's equalizer in the 28th minute from 24 yards out tied the game at 1-1. Bolt's score in the fifth minute gave the 49ers a 1-0 advantage.

The Beach takes the weekend off before returning home on Tuesday, October 18 to host Idaho for a contest at 3 p.m. LBSU played without starting defenders Julie Megorden (ankle) and Natalie Messina (leg).
