BOX SCORE

LONG BEACH, CA-- Sahar Haghdan (Palmdale) scored two goals and added an assist as No. 25-ranked Long Beach State (12-3-1) cruised by UC Davis (4-8-3) 3-0 on Friday afternoon. The win, the 12th of the season, tied the school-record for victories as was the team's ninth shutout of the year, also a record.

LBSU went up 1-0 in the eighth minute when Haghdan passed it ahead to Kim Silos (Ontario) giving Silos 10 goals on the season, and putting her in an elite category of 49ers, as one of only four players to tally double digits in a season. LBSU then went up 2-0 in the 54th minute as Haghdan's cross-over beat goalie Krystyn Lizak.

UC Davis had a chance to cut the lead in half with 35 minutes left, but three of Liz Ramos' (Bakersfield) career-high five saves came over the next five minutes to preseve her eighth shutout of the year. Ramos first caught a penalty kick from Roxanne Croze in the 66th minute, before punching out Lindsey Raymond's free kick in the 69th minute. Following the ensuing corner, Ramos saved a shot by Katie Snyder, as LBSU scored five minutes later to put the contest out of reach.

In the 76th minute, much like a Friday night in Los Angeles, Nicole Cross (Cathedral City) found a traffic jam off a corner kick, as Hayley Bolt (Lakewood) header was blocked, before Haghdan forced it in to make it 3-0.

The 49ers can clinch their first-ever Big West Tournament berth on Sunday, when they play at UC Irvine at 1 p.m. LBSU closes out the regular season at UC Riverside on October 28 and host CS Fullerton in the season finale, on October 30.
