SAMMAMISH, WA-- The Long Beach State women's golf team finished in seventh place at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee Country Club. The No. 30-ranked 49ers shot a 310 in Wednesday's final round, finishing with a three-round score of 925. No. 9-ranked Pepperdine won the team title with an 891 and Arizona State came in second with an 892.

The star-studded tournament featured 11 of the top 50 ranked teams in the country in the 14-team field. The 49ers finished ahead of No. 27 California, No. 6 Washington, No. 24 Oregon, No. 25 BYU, No. 48 Washington State and No. 36 Oregon State.

Individually, Kira Murashige was the top finisher for the 49ers, tying for 19th place with a 13-over-par 229 (82-72-75). Kay Hoey and Beth Holtermann both tied for 23rd place with a 231 and Hayley Wilkinson tied for 40th with a 235. Capturing the overall title was Arizona State's Jennifer Osborn who shot a one-under 215 (73-69-73). Irene Cho of USC came in second with a one-over 217 (75-75-67).

The 49ers will next be in action on October 17-18 when they compete at the Price's/New Mexico State Invitational at the NMSU Golf Course in Las Cruces, NM.
