49ers to Be Shown on Local Television
Soccer Team Slated to Have Five Games Tape Delayed on Charter TV 3

LONG BEACH, CA-- I want my MTV! Mauricio TV that is. In a first for the Long Beach State soccer program, the 49ers, and Head Coach Mauricio Ingrassia will have five home matches on television.

The matches will be tape delayed on channel 3 on Charter Communications cable systems around Long Beach, beginning with the team's home opener on Friday, August 27 versus Sacramento State.

For the opener Rob Buska will provide play-by-play and former Head Coach Peter Reynaud will be the color commentator.

"I think television will generate excitement around the program and put a face to the team," said Ingrassia, who is in his first season at the helm. "It has the ability to build a fan base and bring our players into Long Beach's living room."

The opener will be re-played on Saturday, August 28 at 5 p.m., with Sunday's contest against San Francisco slated to be re-played on Saturday, September 4 at 5 p.m.

Three Big West matches will also be taped with air dates to be announced on the Long Beach State website--Pacific on October 8, CS Northridge on October 10 and UC Riverside on October 31.
