Beach Finishes 12th At Bay Area Classic
Marie Louise Juul Ties For 14th Place

SAN JOSE, CA-- The Long Beach State women's golf team finished in 12th place at the 2004 Bay Area Classic at Boulder Ridge Golf Club in San Jose, CA. The 49ers shot a 335 in the first round and followed that up with a 350 for a total of 685. Washington won the team title with a 629 (312-317) while New Mexico State came in second with a 644 (320-324).

The top golfer for the 49ers was senior Marie Louise Juul who tied for 14th place overall with a 163 (81-82). Freshman Bolee Kim tied for 44th with a 172 (87-85) and fellow freshman Beth Holtermann tied for 47th with a 173 (84-89). San Jose State's Ashley Gomes won the individual title with a 152 (80-72).

The second round of play began late on Tuesday as the first round was not finished until Tuesday morning after inclement weather delayed Monday's action.

The 49ers next action will be on March 8-9 whenthey compete at the Oregon Duck Invitational at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, OR.
