| Four More 49ers Finish in Top-10 at MPSFs Seven Athletes Finish in Top-10 at Conference Championships February 22, 2003
BOISE, ID-- Jasmine Tolbert (San Jose), Serena Boykin (Tucson, AZ), Adrian Ruak (San Diego) and Cory Loebl (Portland, OR) all finished in the top-10 at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships, giving Long Beach State seven athletes who finished in the top-10 at the two-day conference championships. Tolbert, Boykin and Ruak, along with Holly Lipscomb yesterday were the top finishers for The Beach, each finishing in sixth place. Tolbert leapt to a distance of 37'1.75" in the triple jump, seventh-best all-time; Boykin tossed the shot put 49'3.00" and Ruak reached 16'4.75" in the pole vault, the seventh-best pole vault in school-history, to highlight Saturday's top performers. Ruak's mark was a new lifetime indoor best for him as he finished sixth in the event. The 49ers also got strong performaces in the 5K run on saturday. Jenny yadon set a school-record with her time of 18:12.38, while Terrance Wroblewski also set a school-record with a time of 15:02.48.
In the women's mile relay, the 49ers were just one second off setting a school-record as they finished with a time of 3:54.43, the second-best mark all-time. The four runners on the women's mile relay team are Meghan Atkinson, Brandii ruiz, Ami Goldhammer and Shanille Fairweather.
Loebl finished in eighth place in the weight throw with a toss of 57'00.25". FULL RESULTS |
