| 49ers to Host Jack Rose Long Beach Relays Beach Opens Outdoor Season This Week at Home February 13, 2002
LONG BEACH, CA-- The 49er track and field program will host their first outdoor meet of the season this Saturday when they host the 61st Annual Jack Rose Long Beach Relays at Jack Rose Stadium, next to The Pyramid on the Long Beach State campus. Four hundred athletes from eight universities, eight junior colleges and seven club teams are expected to compete in 41 men's and women's events. Events begin at 10 a.m. and run til 4 p.m. The price for spectators is $5, while children under four are admitted for free. The University's that are expected to attend are: Long Beach State, the University of Southern California, Loyola Marymount, Biola, Cal Poly Pomona, CS San Marcos, Occidental, and Point Loma Nazarene. Junior Colleges expected to attend are: Antelope Valley, Cerritos, Compton, Los Angeles City, Long Beach City, Pasadena, San Bernadino Valley and Victor Valley. Club teams expected to attend are: the Beach Track Club, Track West, the Men of Troy, Alliant International, Win State, Pacific West and the Long Beach State Alumni.
