Dixie Grimmett

As the university's women's volleyball coach from 1972 through 1985, Grimmett accumulated 240 victories, including 32 with an unbeaten team that captured the AIAW national title in 1974. Her 1975 49er team was 30-2 and again won the AIAW national championship. She was volleyball coach of the year in 1975 and coached the U.S. team in the 1975 University Games. She was a professor of physical education at Long Beach State and moved on to the President's Office staff in 2005.
