Brian Failinger joined the Long Beach State women’s volleyball staff as a technical coordinator in 2017.
In his time at the Beach, Failinger has helped the team to 26 wins and a 15-16 Big West Conference mark. The Beach finished sixth in the conference in both 2017 and 2018. Failinger’s assistance has led to nine Big West Conference selections as the Beach boasted four in 2017 and five in 2018.
Over the last two years at Long Beach State, Failinger has gathered and coordinated all statistical information for the team through Data Volley and Volleymetrics, and has generated scouting reports for video analysis from practice and matches.
Failinger’s responsibilities also include advertising and promoting all Long Beach State camps and clinics, as well as handling all operational behind the scenes needs such as travel and nutrition.
Prior to his job at LBSU, Failinger worked as a technical coordinator, intern and volunteer for USA Volleyball for three years. He served as the technical coordinator and team manager for the 2017 Men’s Pan Am Cup team.
Failinger played collegiately at Concordia Irvine from 2015-17. He also served as a manager and a practice player for the Indiana Women’s Volleyball team from 2013-15. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science from both Indiana University and Concordia University Irvine.
