Rob Koehler joins the Long Beach State coaching staff in 2011 as the team's volunteer assistant coach, coming to Long Beach State following a season with Marquette.
Currently coaching with the Cal Juniors Volleyball club, Koehler has over seven years of experience coaching for a number of youth teams around the nation. Following his graduation from Carthage College in 2008, Koehler served as an assistant coach with the program, and then he took over as the boys varsity head coach of Waukesha West High School and coaching with a pair of Milwaukee-area club teams. He then spent a season as the assistant coach for the women's volleyball program at Marquette.
A teammate of current 49ers Assistant Coach Matt Ulmer at Carthage College, Koehler was a two-time All-American as a middle blocker, and advanced to the national championship twice. Koehler finished his time at Carthage as the school's career leader in total blocks, block assists and blocks per set. His 1.11 blocks per set remains the school record.
