Senior Kyle McElderry was one of four 49ers to be selected to the MPSF All-Academic Team.

The 49ers host No. 1 UCLA in MPSF action Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The 49ers, who are in the midst of a seven-match homestand, will welcome Princeton and Cal State Northridge to the Walter Pyramid this week.

2009: Appeared in 10 matches and 15 sets as a true freshman ... Finished the season with nine kills and eight digs ... All nine of his kills came in a 3-1 win against Hawaii on Feb. 13 ... Also added seven digs, two assists and one service ace vs. the Warriors.

High School: Lettered two years in volleyball at Los Alamitos High School ... During his senior year was named first-team All-Sunset League, first-team All-CIF and second-team All-Orange County ... Tabbed the 2008 Press-Telegram Dream Team Player of the Year ... Selected to the Best of the West All-Tournament Team and MVP of the Mater Dei Challenge ... Principal's Honor Roll all four years of high school ... Scholar Athlete award his junior year ... Senior Class President of ASB at Los Alamitos.

Club: Played on the LBC club team for two years and Highline volleyball club for two years ... Participated in the Junior Olympics four years capturing the 15's gold medal in the open division for the LBC club ... Won the 17's silver medal in the club division with Highline.
