2007: Appeared in 49 games, averaging 0.78 kills and 0.88 digs per outing... hit .080... totaled 21 total blocks (0.43 bpg)... had a career-best eight kills in a three-game win over Pacific at the UCSB/E-Bar Tournament in January... career-high five blocks on Jan. 12 vs. UC San Diego... career-high nine digs in home win over UC San Diego.

2006: Played in 33 games on the season as a true freshman, mainly in the back row ... finished the season with one kills in four attempts, 13 digs (0.39 dpg) and six service aces ... his lone kill came against IPFW ... had a season-best five digs in the win over IPFW and added two at UCLA.

High School: Selected first team All-American in 2005 by Mizuno/Volleyball Magazine... prepped at Wilson High School where he lettered two years in volleyball... was a two-time first team All-Moore League selection under Head Coach Susan Pescar.... tallied 557 kills and 21 blocks his senior campaign... helped lead Wilson to the CIF quarterfinals in 2004 and 2005... a two-time first team All-Moore League selection as well.

Personal: Born Gavin Stewart Christensen on July 26, 1986 in Long Beach, California... son of Dan and Ann Christensen... his mother graduated from Long Beach State.... brother, Ian, is on the men's water polo team at UC Santa Barbara... competed two years on the SCVC Club team, capturing back-to-back Junior Olympic championships in 2003 and 2004... a Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 recruit... is a political science major ... named a 49er Academic All-Star in Fall 2005.
