Jason Levy

Jason Levy joined the Long Beach State coaching staff during the 2018-19 season, bringing with him over 24 years of coaching at the Division I level. Levy comes to the Beach as the Director of Scouting on head coach Dan Monson’s staff.

In addition to his role at Long Beach State, Levy is also currently serving as an assistant coach for the Dominican Republic National Team. He started in that role in November of 2017 and helped coach the DR in the 2017-2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

His previous Division I coaching experience includes stops at seven schools from 1993-2017, primarily in the Southern California area. Levy most recently served four seasons as an assistant coach at CSUN from 2013-17, working as the defensive coordinator for the team. He came to Northridge from Loyola Marymount, where he was a five-year assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the Lions.

Levy’s longest coaching stop was with Cal State Fullerton, where he coached for eight seasons from 2000-08. He coordinated all the recruiting efforts and non-conference scheduling during his tenure with the Titans. Levy also had stops at the University of Portland (1997-2000), UC Irvine (1996-97), Drake University (1993-94) and, most notably, two seasons at Long Beach State from 1994-96 under LBSU head coach Seth Greenberg.

A New York native, Levy played his high school ball at La Salle Academy in Manhattan. He then played two seasons at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Calif. In 1993, Levy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from CSUN.
