Former Long Beach State standout, Andrew Whitt, returned to the Beach in 2018 as the team’s director of operations before moving into the volunteer assistant coaching role for the 2020 season.
In his return to the Beach, Whitt helped LBSU capture the 2019 National Championship marking the first time in school history a Long Beach State squad won back-to-back NCAA National Titles.
Long Beach State finished the season with a 28-2 record and an unblemished 10-0 record in Big West Conference action. The Beach were perfect inside the Walter Pyramid going 14-0 to extend their home winning streak to 43, setting a new program record.
In addition to winning the National Title, the Beach also boasted four AVCA All-American selections, five Big West All-Conference honorees and had four players named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
Prior to his return to Long Beach State, Whitt played for the London Lynx Volleyball Club in the Super 8s Division, where he served as a team captain. In addition to playing overseas, Whitt also earned a Master’s Degree in International Business at the University of East London, where he captained the men’s volleyball team.
The 2017 graduate of Long Beach State concluded his career leading the Beach to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances with a pair of NCAA Final Four showings in 2016 and 2017. In his senior season, he helped the top-ranked Beach capture their first-ever MPSF Championship with a four-set win over Hawaii.
In addition to serving as the director of operations at LBSU, Whitt is also the director of Pinnacle Athletic Club in Long Beach.
