Madi Maxwell Named Big West Setter Of The Week

Maxwell recorded her second triple-double of the season as part of a 3-0 weekend.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After leading Long Beach State to a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Utah Classic, Madi Maxwell was named the Big West Setter of the Week on September 7.
Maxwell guided the Beach to three wins, including a victory over the hosts, Utah, over three days in Salt Lake City. The junior started by guiding a dominant win over Eastern Illinois, finishing with 35 assists while guiding the team to .402 hitting in a sweep of the Panthers.
The next night against Utah, Maxwell recorded her second triple-double of the season. Again leading the team with 36 assists, Maxwell also added 13 digs, helped the Beach close out the Utes in the fifth with 10 total kills, and also shared in the team lead with seven blocks on the night.
Finally against Wyoming, Maxwell led the team with 15 digs and 12 assists, adding four blocks and eight kills as the Beach rallied to defeat the Cowgirls.
In all, Maxwell finished the weekend with 99 assists, 37 digs, 21 kills and 12 blocks while leading the Beach to .243 hitting as a team in three victories.
