Cherrie Cox Claims Big West Offensive Player Of The Week

After two goals, the star senior earned her second Big West honor of the season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior midfielder Cherrie Cox was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in a win at Nevada as the Beach wrapped up non-conference play.
The brace from Cox helped Long Beach State earn a 3-0 road win in their only action last week, improving to 6-1-2 on the season. It was the third multi-goal effort of the season for the senior, who is tied for third in the nation with 10 goals.
Her 33 career goals are also tied for second all-time in program history alongside early legend Janet Fettig, as the senior passed Nadia Link and Kim Silos.
Long Beach State begins Big West play this coming week with two games on the road, facing UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.
