Long Beach State Women's Basketball Signs Ebony Taylor-Smith To 2026-27 Class

The Beach has added another talented Southern California standout to its 2026-27 class with the signing of guard Ebony Taylor-Smith
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State has officially signed Ebony Taylor-Smith, a 5-8 guard from Carlsbad, Calif., who joins the Beach after a decorated career at Rancho Christian School.

Taylor-Smith arrives at Long Beach State following one of the most accomplished high school careers in Southern California. A four-year varsity standout and team captain at Rancho Christian, she averaged 16.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.9 steals per game over 95 career games while finishing with more than 1,900 career points.
As a senior in 2025-26, Taylor-Smith averaged a career-best 19.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.0 steals per game across 34 contests. She ranked third nationally in three-point field goals made after finishing ninth in the nation the previous season and 40th as a sophomore. A dynamic scorer from the perimeter, she also set Rancho Christian's single-season and career records for three-pointers made.
Taylor-Smith earned First Team All-League honors in each of her four varsity seasons and was named to the CIF Southern Section Second Team twice, earning the distinction in Division 1 as a junior and the Open Division as a senior. She helped lead Rancho Christian to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship and was recognized as her team's MVP during her freshman season. Off the court, she was named Rancho Christian's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
