Wright was second in the country in in 3-point shooting last season across Division II.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Bringing in one of the best shooters in Division II last season, Chris Acker and his staff have announced the commitment of Brett Wright from Trivecca Nazarene in Tennessee.
Brett Wright | Forward | 6-7, 195 | Chattanooga, Tenn.
Brett Wright ranked second nationally across Division II last season in 3-point shooting at Trivecca Nazarene, shooting 46.9 percent from outside, 86-of-184 in total while averaging 12.2 points per game as the team went 18-11 overall on the season. Wright also averaged 2.4 rebounds per game for the Trojans, and comes to the Beach with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Acker on Wright:
"Brett Wright comes to us as one of the top three-point shooters in Division II last season, and his ability to space the floor immediately adds value to our program. At his size, combined with a quick, compact release, he's a constant threat from beyond the arc and has already shown he can impact winning at a high level. Brett is also a deceptive athlete. He moves better than people expect, competes, and finds ways to make plays that don't always show up in the box score. We believe there's even more to his game than he's been able to showcase so far, and we're excited to give him the opportunity to expand that here at the Beach. On top of that, his personality and great accent are going to make him stand out in our community and quickly become someone people connect with both on and off the court."
Wright's addition to the 2026-27 roster continues the team's commitment to recruitment across all levels, with Division I transfers, Division II transfers, junior college additions and high school recruits.
