Long Beach State Duo Earns Big West Honors

Agi named Offensive Player of the Week; Maxwell tabbed Setter of the Week after unbeaten tournament
LONG BEACH, Calif. — A pair of Long Beach State women's volleyball players earned Big West honors; the league announced Sept. 22.
Elise Agi was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Beach to a 3-0 record at the UniWyo Invite. The 5-foot-11 senior hit .326 while averaging 3.46 kills, 3.00 digs and 3.88 points per set. She posted two double-doubles, including a career-high 16 digs against Wyoming. Agi also tallied 24 kills against Idaho State.
Sophomore Madi Maxwell was named Big West Setter of the Week. She recorded 149 assists as the Beach went 3-0 at the UniWyo Invite, averaging 11.46 per set. Maxwell posted a pair of double-doubles during the tournament. She finished with 56 assists and 10 digs against Wyoming and added her sixth career double-double on Sept. 20 with a career-high 57 assists and 13 digs against Idaho State.
LBSU (7-4) opens Big West play Friday when the Beach travels to UC Irvine (5-7). First serve is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
