The Beach will host the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic in February as their home event.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf will take on a tremendous slate of tournaments on great courses around the West as the team aims to send golfers to the postseason for the fourth consecutive season.
A busy fall begins with the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational as the Beach returns to New Mexico to defend their team title from last season. The Beach will also make a return stop at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, hosted by Washington on September 15 and 16.
The first new tournament of the year will see Long Beach State off to Corvallis, Ore. as part of the Molly Collegiate Invitational hosted by Oregon State. After a one-year absence, the Beach will once again take part in the Aggie Invitational hosted by New Mexico State at their campus course, and then the Beach will play a fifth and final fall tournament, participating in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kauai from October 20-22.
Long Beach State begins the spring with their own tournament, once again hosting the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif. That tournament will begin on Valentine's Day, Saturday February 14, and run three days until Monday, February 16.
A quick turnaround will see the Beach take part in the Bruin Wave Invitational, co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine starting on February 23. Two new tournaments are next, as the Beach will play in the GameAbove Invitational at Rolling Hills Country Club before heading to Arizona on March 20 to compete in the MountainView Collegiate, hosted by Kansas State at The Preserve Golf Club in Tucson.
The regular season will come to a close as the Beach goes back to Arizona to compete in the Wyoming Cowgirls Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, a tournament where the Beach has finished in the top three in each of the team's last three appearances.
Finally, the Big West Championship is scheduled to begin on Sunday, April 19, running for three days as the Beach will battle for the program's fifth conference title. This year, the championship will be held at The Royal Ka'anapali Course in Lahaina on Maui.
