The large field will play one final round on Saturday.
STANFORD, Calif. – Facing 29 other teams as part of The Goodwin hosted by Stanford, Long Beach State remained in the top half of the field Friday as junior Jack Cantlay had the best round of the day for the Beach. Two golfers of the 164 did not complete the second round due to darkness.
Day Two Results
Junior Jack Cantlay rebounded with the team's strongest round on Friday after having the team's drop score yesterday. Finishing a very solid and consistent round with 16 pars, Cantlay shot an even par 70 and moved to four-over on the tournament.
Alejandro de Castro Piera shot a 71 to climb into 44th place, while Charlie Forster had a 73 and Krishnav Chopraa carded a 74 as top scorers from Thursday ended the day sharing 35th place at two-over through 36 holes. Senior Steen Zeman had the day's drop score.
"It was a struggle out there today," said head coach Rob Murray. "We had a hard time with the distance control early with the cooler temperatures. The boys battled but we definitely didn't have our best stuff. We will regroup and go again in the final round."
The final round of The Goodwin will be held on Saturday, March 29 from the Stanford Golf Course. Live scoring will be provided through SCOREBOARD at https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/233303/scoring/team.
