
Martina Cardona Named To The 2025 Cutino Award Watch List

The senior is the fourth Beach player to be nominated since 2022.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior Martina Cardona has been nominated to the 2025 Cutino Award Watch List as USA Water Polo announced this Thursday the players selected for the 2025 season.
The Peter J. Cutino Award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach, honors the best player in men's and women's college water polo. This watch list was created in 2022 and selects 20 athletes recognized by their outstanding play.
Cardona is the fourth Long Beach State player to be nominated for the award. The senior attacker leads the Beach this season with 53 goals and passed the 100 career goals milestone after netting a career-high of six goals against No. 5 California early in the year. The Barcelona, Spain native has earned All-Big West Honorable Mention for two years in a row as well as ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention for her accomplishments in the pool.
No. 6 Long Beach State (11-9, 2-1 Big West) is back in action this Saturday at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center as they host No. 23 CSUN conference play at Noon. Live stats for the match can be followed on thefosh.net.
