Defending National Champions Long Beach State Men’s Volleyball Announce 2026 Schedule

Long Beach State will take part in two select tournaments while hosting 19 home matches in total.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Men's Volleyball has revealed their 2026 schedule, and the defending national champions will host a number of top teams in the Walter Pyramid, once again host the North American Challenge, and take part in a unique midseason tournament in an exciting season to come.
 
The season will begin with the North American Challenge. The Walter Pyramid will be home to eight exhibition matches over two days on January 2 and January 4, as Long Beach State and UC San Diego will face two of the top teams in Canada in Alberta and Calgary twice each in two packed days of action prior to the official start of the season.
 
The non-conference schedule will begin on January 9 when Long Beach State hosts Lindenwood, followed by a home match against McKendree on Saturday, January 10. The Beach will then take a trip to Ohio, facing Central State on the road before playing George Mason and Ohio State in a tournament hosted by the Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio, the site of Long Beach State's most recent NCAA triumph.
 
Returning to California, Long Beach State will then host Fort Valley State, a program that has made each of the last two NCAA tournaments, on Friday, January 23 and Long Island on Saturday, January 24.
 
The Beach will take on Pepperdine on the road before a National Championship rematch in the Walter Pyramid on February 6, as Long Beach State hosts UCLA. A Valentine's Day match with Vanguard will be the final match prior to a unique new tournament that LBSU has been invited to play in.
 
Long Beach State will be one of the main draws in a four-team tournament that will be hosted in the Honda Center on February 19 and 20. The home of volleyball for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, the tournament will feature NIL prize money and will showcase some of the best volleyball in the nation over two days in Anaheim.
 
Closing non-conference play, the Beach will play a home-and-home with Concordia Irvine, host Penn State on March 7, and then face Jessup in the Walter Pyramid on March 13.
 
Big West play starts on Friday, March 20 as Hawai'i comes to the Walter Pyramid for two matches, and then the Beach will face CSUN, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine in home-and-home series. The home slate concludes with the Black and Blue Rivalry on April 17, followed by the Big West Championship which will be hosted in 2026 by UC Irvine from the Bren Events Center.
