Worden Named Big West Offensive Player Of The Week

Second week in a row that a LBSU player is selected for the honor
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Long Beach State's Liz Worden was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 30.
Worden scored a goal and posted two assists in LBSU's 4-3 victory over UC San Diego on Sept. 29. Worden's first assist came in the 33rd minute. Her left-footed cross found Julia Moore in the six-yard box, where she headed in her second goal.
Worden put the Beach back in front 3-2 in the 61st minute when she headed in Kylie Perez's throw-in. Worden's second assist came on Makayla Demelo's game-winning goal in the 83rd minute. A quick Kassandra Ceja throw-in went to Worden. Worden dribbled once, passing to a rushing Demelo, who scored from 20 yards out.
Counting the Sept. 26 game against CSUN, Worden took four shots on the week. Monday marked the second consecutive week in which an LBSU player (Ceja) has been named Big West Offensive Player of the Week.
Long Beach State (5-5-1, 2-1 Big West) continues a three-match road trip Thursday night when LBSU travels to UC Santa Barbara (4-3-5, 2-0-1 Big West). Coverage on ESPN+ begins at 6 p.m.
