The collective is active now in support of Beach Basketball.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – With the blessing of Long Beach State Athletics and new Men's Basketball Head Coach Chris Acker, Long Beach State Men's Basketball will launch the Long Beach State Men's Basketball Alliance, an official Name, Image and Likeness ("NIL") collective for Long Beach Men's Basketball - designed to empower Beach student-athletes through NIL opportunities and support.
The mission of the Long Beach State Men's Basketball Alliance is to facilitate NIL partnerships between Long Beach State Men's Basketball student-athletes, community organizations, non-profits, business owners, fans and the local community.
"The Long Beach State Men's Basketball Alliance is about giving the young men in this program the possibility to have a memorable experience," said head coach Chris Acker. "NIL has created a new climate of college basketball that affords us the opportunity to better support our student-athletes. This new initiative will potentially put us in the position to retain players and build upon the legacy of an already well-established tradition here at the Beach. In order to do so, we need your support."
The Alliance operates independently from the Long Beach State athletics department but works directly with LBSU student-athletes to maximize their opportunities in the NIL space. It is powered by fan and corporate membership subscriptions. Memberships to the Alliance come with a number of benefits connecting fans directly with student-athletes through exclusive events and unique content.
"As an alumnus who loves this program, I couldn't be more passionate and optimistic about the future of Long Beach State Basketball. We know that a thriving ecosystem of athletic programs at Long Beach State benefits everyone, and we are excited to make an impact," Executive Director Tim Crofts said.
The collective's goal is to be the most competitive NIL platform in the conference and position Long Beach Basketball for sustainable growth and success. From access to athlete events, tailgates, meet and greets, and more, supporters become integral members of a community dedicated to advancing the legacy of Long Beach Basketball excellence both on and off the court.
Between now and season's tip-off, any members who join the Alliance will get additional perks and designation as a Founding Member - a nod to the first supporters and trailblazers - those who believe in this initiative since day one, and are committed to the success and future of the basketball program.
Supporters can join the Alliance today and learn more about the collective at www.lbsumbballiance.com or on X and Instagram @LBSUMBBAlliance.
