Long Beach State enters its first season under Natalie Reagan with high hopes as five starters return for the Beach.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Interim Head Coach Natalie Reagan has announced the schedule for Long Beach State Women's Volleyball in the upcoming season, that will feature a number of great non-conference home matches along with some big tests before a loaded Big West slate.
Long Beach State will get a big test right away, traveling to Oregon to face two teams that finished in the Top 10 last season in Pittsburgh and Oregon in Eugene. The Beach will then host Northwestern in back-to-back matches inside of the Walter Pyramid to open the team's home schedule, followed by a return trip to Long Beach for Omaha.
After a trip to Lincoln, Nebraska, to face a pair of neutral foes in Arizona State and Wichita State, the Beach will come back to the Walter Pyramid for a packed weekend of action starting on Thursday, September 19. The Beach will host Washington to start the weekend, and then on Friday, September 20, LBSU will host a doubleheader as the Huskies take on Pepperdine before Long Beach State plays Washington State. The weekend then closes as Long Beach State hosts Pepperdine on Saturday, September 21 to finish the non-conference schedule.
Long Beach State will play five of their first six conference matches on the road, but will have a marquee match to start home league play against Hawai'i on October 5. The Beach will then finish off the regular season with three of their last four matches at home, closing with CSU Bakersfield and CSUN on November 22 and 23.
UC Irvine will play host to this year's Big West Championship, which will once again take place over Thanksgiving week beginning on Wednesday, November 27.
Season tickets are now either through the Long Beach State Box Office at 562-985-4949 or online at www.longbeachstate.com.
