Transfer Guard TJ Wainwright Commits To Long Beach State

The junior guard averaged over 10 points per game last season at Robert Morris.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Another Division I transfer has agreed to come to Long Beach State, as junior guard TJ Wainwright comes to the Beach after spending the last two seasons at Robert Morris.

TJ Wainwright comes to Long Beach State after two years in the rotation with Robert Morris of the Horizon League. After playing in all 33 games for the Colonials as a true freshman, Wainwright had a breakout season in 2022-23 for Robert Morris. Playing as the team's sixth man, Wainwright averaged 10.0 points per game and shot 33.3 percent from three, making 32 3-pointers while averaging over 20 minutes per game.
In high school, Wainwright led Monteverde Academy to a prep national championship, averaging 15.7 points per game while shooting over 40% from three.

Wainwright is the third Division I transfer joining the program along with Devin Askew and Derrick Michael Xzavierro. Those three players join three returners and incoming freshmen Kam Martin and Andrew Nagy as the roster continues to come together for 2024-25.
