LONG BEACH, Calif. – New Men's Basketball Head Coach Chris Acker and his staff secure their first NLI Commitment, signing Andrew Nagy, a 6-9 forward from Veritas Academy.
ANDREW NAGY
Forward, 6-9, 220
Anaheim, Calif. (Veritas Academy)
Andrew Nagy, a formidable power forward, honed his skills at the prestigious Nike EYBL Veritas Academy. He was a standout player, averaging 11.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, making him one of the league's top rebounders. Nagy's basketball journey also includes a successful stint at Orange Lutheran High School for two seasons and a competitive run with West Coast Elite in AAU.
Acker on Nagy:
"Andrew is a very tough kid and I believe that he has a chance to be a very good player for our program. He is tough, smart and competitive. He comes from a great family and played at a very high level at Veritas Prep and with West Coast Elite. His character and his commitment to academics and winning is why I believe he is going to be someone that sets the foundation for our future here at the Beach."
Nagy joins Kam Martin, a 6-4 guard from Montgomery County, Maryland in the incoming class for 2024-25. Martin has maintained his commitment to the Beach from the fall signing period.
