The Beach Signs Two Talented Transfers

LONG BEACH, Calif.—Long Beach State women's soccer coach Mauricio Ingrassia has announced the signing of Kylie Perez and Liz Worden to National Letters of Intent which will allow the duo to continue their playing careers at the Beach.

  • Started all 12 of the matches in which she appeared in for the University of San Diego as a freshman in 2023.
  • Played 1,005 minutes as a defender.
  • Played club soccer for Beach FC, winning an ODP Championship, an ECRL Title, and a Surf Cup Championship.
  • Played Softball at Gahr High School.
  • Earned academic honors in English, BioMed, Anatomy, and Medical Intervention.
  • Mother Kelly Inouye-Perez is the head softball coach at UCLA.
  • Father Gerardo played baseball at LMU while brother Mikey played baseball at UCLA and is now a member of the Minnesota Twins organization.
"Kylie is a local product from Cerritos," said Ingrassia. "She comes to us after spending her first semester at San Diego where she anchored the backline playing almost every minute at center back. She is a relentless competitor that will add depth to our back row and defensive mid position and will push for playing time right away. Her experience will be very valuable for us. We are excited to have her with us at the Beach."

  • A member of the women's soccer team at the University of Texas from 2022-23, appearing in 33 matches and starting eight times.
  • Scored five goals, posted six assists, charted 16 points, and took 49 shots (19 on goal).
  • Was named Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week on Aug. 23, 2022, after scoring two goals and recording an assist for her first five career points in the 5-0, season-opening victory over Lipscomb on Aug. 18.
  • Invited to the 2021 U.S. U-18 Youth National Team Virtual Camp to prep for future in-person camps. Participated in multiple U.S. Youth National Team Identification Center events in Southern California (May 2021, June 2019, March 2019, Oct. 2018).
  • Rated No. 12 in Southern California, the No. 20 forward in the country and No. 60 overall in the Class of 2022 Top Drawer Soccer IMG Academy national player rankings.
  • Played for So Cal Blues and Legends FC.
  • Selected to both the 2018/19 West Region ODP and 2018 Cal South ODP Teams and was invited to participate in the 2018 Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) Player Development Program.
  • Honored multiple times as a Top Drawer Soccer Girls DA Weekly Standout.
  • Only played soccer during her senior season at Martin Luther King Jr. H.S.
"Liz is a top level forward that will be a handful for anyone on our schedule," Ingrassia said. "She can unbalance teams off the dribble, can shoot right or left, and has a great final pass. Her relentless mentality is what sets her apart. She is a great addition to our team and knows the environment she is coming into as she played us with Texas last season."
