Patricia Chung, Sydney Woodley Named CSC Academic All-District

Patricia Chung and Sydney Woodley earned the honors for their combined academic and athletic performances
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The 2023-24 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognized the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom and Long Beach State's Patricia Chung and Sydney Woodley were selected.
Chung was recognized for earning a 3.91 grade point average as a psychology major. On the court, she started in all 33 games and led the Beach in assists with 84. Chung was a key component to the Beach's success as she averaged 8.8 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game, while adding 34 steals.
Woodley collected the honors after boasting a perfect 4.00 grade point average as a journalism major. Athletically, she led The Big West with 3.35 steals per game, which ranked her fifth in the nation. Additionally, Woodley contributed 10.8 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game to go along with 61 assists.
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on April 16.
