Moore earns award for the second year in a row
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Four Long Beach State women's soccer players were named Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District on Nov. 19.
Junior Julia Moore and a trio of redshirt freshmen, Kailey Supa, Natalie Arnold, and Alanah Ramirez were selected.
Moore was chosen Academic All-District for the second year in a row. Moore was selected honorable mention All-Conference. She started the first 15 matches before an injury curtailed her season. Moore played 1,184 minutes, tying for third on the team in goals with Liz Worden with three. She posted two assists for eight points, the fourth-most on the club. Moore took 12 shots, seven on goal, and converted her lone penalty kick attempt of the year.
A sophomore academically, Supa was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week and Big West Freshman of the Week on Oct. 14. She scored two of the three Long Beach State goals as the Beach went 1-1 during a two-match women's soccer week. Supa tied the score at one against UC Davis with a 25-yard blast into the top left of the net. She scored an 86th-minute game-winner when she headed in Liz Worden's direct pass as the Beach defeated Cal State Bakersfield 1-0. Her shot percentage of the week was .667 (2-for-3). Supa appeared in 17 matches, starting seven times, and playing 588 minutes. Supa scored two goals on 10 shots (four on goal).
Arnold, who is a sophomore academically, appeared in 16 of the 18 matches primarily as a defender for LBSU. She started seven times and played 693 minutes. Arnold took four shots, one of which was on goal.
A sophomore academically, Ramirez appeared in 16 matches, playing 342 minutes. Her lone start was against then-No. 4 BYU on Aug. 24. Ramirez recorded one assist on Liz Worden's goal against UC Riverside on Sept. 22. She took two shots.
The academic qualifications for the distinction are a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average. Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games this season, and should be a starter or important reserve on the field of play. The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Women's soccer is the first to be recognized this season.
