Kassandra Ceja Named Big West Offensive Player Of The Week

Ceja scored the first two goals in Sunday’s 3-0 win on the road at San Diego State.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Junior transfer Kassandra Ceja was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
A transfer from Fresno State playing her third and fourth games for the Beach, Ceja opened the weekend with two shots on goal on the road at No. 11 BYU, and then played a major role in Long Beach State's 3-0 win on the road at San Diego State.
Ceja opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a strong finish after good combination play from the Beach, and then doubled the lead in the second half, punching home a goal in the box following a loose ball after a Long Beach State corner.
The junior finished with eight shots in two games, putting six on target on the way to a four-point weekend.
Long Beach State has now won two Big West Offensive Player of the Week awards in as many weeks as Elysia Laramie was the winner after week one. Long Beach State has scored 3 or more goals in three out of four games this season.
