Women’s Golf Sees Three Earn WGCA All-American Scholar

Freshman Madisen Le joined returners Kristina Ponomareva and Angelina Kim in the prestigious honor.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State had three women's golfers who met the requirements for selection for WGCA All-American Scholar, one of the most stringent academic awards in collegiate sports.
Awarded by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), the WGCA All-American Scholar program recognizes student-athletes who maintain a high level of academic achievement in addition to consistent participation in collegiate golf.
In order to be eligible for the award, student-athletes must meet participation minimums for the season as well as hold a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.50 or higher.
Kristina Ponomaraeva was recognized for the second year in a row. A tremendous student majoring in applied mathematics Ponomareva was joined by another repeat winning in Angelina Kim, who is majoring in Marketing. Finally, Freshman Madison Le joined the duo in her first season in the program as a public relations major who had a strong spring in the classroom.
