
Ian Gilligan Takes Home Big West Men’s Golfer of the Month for the Third Time This Season

Gilligan earned the monthly honor after winning the Wyoming Cowboy Classic and placing in the Top 10 at El Macero Classic
IRVINE, Calif. – For the third time this season, Long Beach State's Ian Gilligan was named Big West Men's Golfer of the Month.
Gilligan, a sophomore out of Reno, Nev., has had quite the season as he currently ranks 16th among NCAA Men's Division I Players per Golfstat.com. His win at the Cowboy Classic marked his third tournament title of the season.
At the Cowboy Classic, hosted by Wyoming, Gilligan shot 70-67-66 for a 13-under par 203 performance. He led the Beach to a tie for fourth place as the team moved up five spots on the leaderboard on the final day thanks to Gilligan's cool 66, which was just two strokes off his career-low.
In the Beach's next tournament, Gilligan once again led the way as he finished tied for 10th at El Macero Classic with a 4-under par showing. He had a solid final round as he fired a 69 with six birdies to move up an impressive 24 spots on the leaderboard on the way to recording his seventh Top 10 performance of the season.
Gilligan will lead Long Beach State into The Big West Championships which begin on Sunday, April 30 and run through Tuesday, May 2 at the La Quinta Country Club.
