Through two weeks of Big West Conference action, Haddad has been the Pitcher of the Week both times.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State's sophomore ace Shannon Haddad repeats as Big West Pitcher of the Week following another sweep for the Beach, this time on the road at UC Davis.
Haddad made two starts on the weekend, starting with a no decision in the opening game against the Aggies where she had four strikeouts with no walks, throwing five innings in an epic game that would eventually stretch to 10 innings before a winner was finally decided.
Returning to the circle for the series finale, Haddad pitched her fourth complete game shutout of the season, scattering four singles while striking out six on the way to her seventh win of the campaign.
Through six games, Haddad is once again establishing herself as one of the dominant pitchers in the Big West. The 2021 Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year, Haddad leads the Big West in innings pitched in Big West action with 26.0 innings pitched, posting a 3-0 record with an 0.81 ERA and three shutouts. Additionally, the sophomore has struck out 20 batters without allowing a walk over four starts.
Long Beach State has now won the Big West Pitcher of the Week award in three straight weeks, as LBSU's other starter, Eryka Gonzales, picked up the honor after throwing a complete game of her own in a victory over then No. 16 Baylor.
