Ashworth Earns Big West Player of the Week Honors

The sophomore transfer recorded three multi-hit efforts leading the Dirtbags to a four-win week.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Kyle Ashworth has been named the Big West Player of the Week after leading the Dirtbags to a four-win week with wins over Fresno State and UC Riverside.
The sophomore went 8-for-15 (.533) at the plate with a .588 on-base percentage and .800 slugging percentage. He also launched the first home run of his Division I career to go along with six runs batted in and seven runs scored.
Recording multi-hit efforts in three of the four games, his best performance came in Sunday's series finale at UCR where he went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI.
For the season, his average jumped 84 points to a .309 clip which now ranks second highest on the team.
